Branch Offices
Over the last 34 years Sommer & Staff Constructions Pty Ltd have completed projects in very remote parts of Queensland as well as along the more populated areas on the east coast. Each site operates as a branch office of the company.
Remote area work has been a niche market for Sommer & Staff Constructions from its formation as a new construction company in the early 1970's. Work in difficult conditions, in hard to reach locations, in logistically challenging places have been the type of project that Sommer and Staff Constructions has taken on and successfully completed.
Sommer & Staff has completed projects on Mornington Island, at Kokopo in Papua New Guinea, at BHP's Cannington Mine in the far North West of the state, on Kiribus Island (formerly the Gilbert Islands), on cyclone early warning weather platforms in the Coral Sea, in Mt Isa, Clermont, Emerald, Roma, Blackwater, Mossman, Aurukun, Jilalan South of Sarina, Thursday Island and Port Douglass.
After over 34 years of successfully completing projects all around the state of Queensland the company has developed a system of managing all of its projects from its Brisbane office. Each site operates as a branch office of Sommer & Staff Constructions and is capable of carrying out the project no matter where it may be.
In the early days the management "systems” were manual. However, the systems were so robust and gave such control that in the early 1980's a computer programmer named Trevor Forsythe asked for permission to write a construction specific software based on the Sommer & Staff Constructions policies and procedures. That software was called "Jobpac”. Jobpac International Systems Pty Ltd is internationally recognised as one of the best construction specific software programs that is used around the world by medium to large construction companies. http://www.jobpac.com.au/
With the amazing development of computer and communications technology, Sommer & Staff Constructions sites are "on-line” with the Brisbane office. Whether it's by broadband wireless connection, fibre optic cable, mobile phone or fax, all site branch offices are able to be in direct communication with the main office.
