Sommer & Staff are located in permanent offices in Brisbane, Toowoomba and Emerald as well as project offices throughout Queensland and Northern NSW.
Since the business commenced in 1974, Sommer & Staff have completed projects in very remote areas and highly populated areas, with each project having an office that operates as a branch.
All branches are linked to our head office in Brisbane using the technology available in the area; this ensures direct communication is possible at all times, providing the team on the ground with the back-up and support of our head office resources.
Sommer & Staff are the experts in remote location construction, having completed numerous developments in difficult conditions, hard to reach locations and where logistics are challenging. Our dedicated and professional team maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure construction projects are successful, even where others have been unable to succeed.
Sommer & Staff has completed projects on Mornington Island, at Kokopo in Papua New Guinea, at BHP’s Cannington Mine in the far North West of the state, on Kiribus Island (formerly the Gilbert Islands), on cyclone early warning weather platforms in the Coral Sea, in Mt Isa, Clermont, Emerald, Roma, Blackwater, Mossman, Aurukun, Jilalan South of Sarina, Thursday Island and Port Douglas.
To assist head office in Brisbane to manage and complete projects, in any location, Sommer & Staff developed systems, policies and procedures that were considered robust and effective to use as the framework for computer programmer Trevor Forsythe to develop Jobpac. Jobpac is internationally recognised as one of the best construction industry software programs for medium to large construction companies. www.jobpac.com.au
